Carob Biscuits

Carob Products Used: Raw Carob Powder
Carob powder raw
Ingredients:
  • 220g Soft Butter
  • 125g Caster Sugar
  • 1 Capful Carob Syrup
  • 300g Self Raising Flour
  • 30g Raw Carob Powder
Method:

Preperation

  1. Preheat oven to 170*C
  2. Line 2 biscuit trays

Thermomix:

  1. Put butter and sugar into bowl and mix 3 minutes, speed 5 until pale
  2. Pour carob syrup 10 seconds, speed 5
  3. Add flour and carob powder
  4. Mix 30 seconds, speed 5
  5. Continue to mix at soft speed for 2 minutes
  6. Roll into small balls, place on prepared tray and slightly flatten
  7. Bake for 5 minutes, then turn over down to 150*C and bake for a further 15-20 minutes until firm not hard. Transfer to cooling rack.

Conventional Method:

  1. Cream butter, sugar and carob syrup until pale
  2. Sift flour and carob powder
  3. Add 1/3 of flour at a time to butter mixture until well combined
  4. Roll into small balls, place on prepared tray and slightly flatten
  5. Bake for 5 minutes, then turn over down to 150*C and bake for a further 15-20 minutes until firm not hard. Transfer to cooling rack.
    Makes 30-40 biscuits
