Carob Cashew Milk is a creamy plant-based milk with delicious Australian Carob flavor. Just like almond milk, this non-dairy option is versatile. It is wonderful in coffee or other hot beverages, baking recipes, smoothies, cocktails and more. While cashew milk is widely available in supermarkets nowadays, we believe that making it at home is still the best option. This is particularly true if you want to avoid harmful preservatives that store-bought dairy milk alternatives are known for. Plus of course, the natural sweetness of carob syrup makes it extra special! Make this gluten-free, vegan and refined sugar-free milk by using our recipe below.
Carob Cashew Milk Recipe
The recipe is so simple. There are two core ingredients:
- Cashews. We recommend using raw cashews so that you have room to adjust the salt level as that will impact the overall taste.
- Carob Syrup. This defines the sweetness of the cashew milk. At the same time, it adds the decadent flavor that Australian Carob is known for.
There is a little bit of oat flour in this recipe. This is for packing more nourishment and for ensuring that velvety texture into the milk. Straining is not necessary but if you want the consistency to be silkier, straining is an option.
Enjoy it plain or sweeten it with maple sugar. This Carob Cashew Milk makes an excellent base also for a Hot Carob Milk Drink.
Best served with carob graham crackers, oatmeal carob chip cookies, carob coconut macaroons, carob doughnuts, carob sconuts or other carob breads and cakes.
